Short plank, full squeeze
RKC Plank
This is not a 3-minute plank contest. Squeeze everything. Short time. If you can talk in full sentences, you are not doing the hard version.
Hunter: I use these when a long plank turns into a nap on my elbows. Twenty honest seconds of squeeze beats a minute of leaking.
Cues
- Elbows under shoulders. Forearms planted. Body one board.
- Squeeze glutes like you are holding a card. Quads on.
- Make fists. Pull the elbows toward your toes without actually walking.
- Ribs down. Neck long. Eyes on the floor.
- Breathe behind the brace. Stop when the squeeze dies.
Setup
Mat or towel. Start with 15-25 seconds. Three sets. Rest about 45 seconds. Dorm push day lists these after dips. That is enough core for a school night.
Why the name is extra
RKC just means you treat the plank like a full-body squeeze, not a hangout. Same plank line as the regular page. More tension. Less time. Log RKC plank so you do not compare it to a lazy minute later.
Push day finisher
After incline push-ups, pikes, and bench dips, 3 short holds. Then you leave. You do not need a 10-minute ab circuit because a reel stacked six moves.
If something feels sharp
Stop. Tell a parent or coach. This page is coaching, not a clinic. A regular plank or a dead bug is a fine swap. Log the name you did.
Common misses
Hips piked. Hips dumped. Holding your breath until you shake for show. Also: going for time records while your low back takes over. Short and honest.
FAQ
Is this different from a regular plank?
Same line, more squeeze, shorter clock. If you cannot tell the difference, log a regular plank and own that.
On my hands?
Forearms are the default. High plank is a different hold. Pick one.
Log RKC plank time in the free Vitality Engine. Short sets still need a number.
